Our Impact

Since its inception, UNCC has brought attention to the problem of statelessness in Australia, Kenya, Uganda, and South Sudan, which is mostly unreported. Our four key areas of focus are Stateless Services, Advocacy Research & Student Engagement, and Community Building. Highlights of our impacts are listed below.

Community Building

Community Building Starting from our founding group of 11 people, the UNCC community has grown to include 64 members and over 9 allies and volunteers from the legal, academic, and communications fields. We have also connected with over 16 stateless people in Australia, Kenya and Uganda immigration detention centers.

Advocacy
our first advocacy win was Whistle –Blow to the UNHC Head office, and save the children to change the number of issue affecting stateless person, refugees, and live corruption from 2014. Since then, these accomplishments position us to impact on policy and establishment of office in Kenya, first UNCC office in Africa, headed by Country Director “Rhoda Musyimi”

Research & Student Engagement
We build partnerships with students and faculty at colleges, universities, and law schools to undertake research on statelessness, increase awareness, and equip students to be advocates.
