Making every donation count

How your donation is making an impact on the lives of children around the world

It's thanks to thousands of Australians that we can reach millions of people through our programs every year. This is also made possible through vital support from trusts and foundations, our corporate partners, the Department Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT), and other Australian Government departments and international governments.

With over 10 years of field experience, UNCC makes sure every dollar donated to us is invested to deliver the best possible outcomes for children at the lowest possible cost.

From every dollar raised:

  • 80.4 cents is invested to benefit Senior Citizens, and refugees seniors through our health, education, Seniors protection and humanitarian response programs, and through increasing public awareness of international aid and development issues.

  • 7.3 cents is spent raising the funds we need to deliver these programs

  • 7.2 cents is spent on making sure we have the talented people, infrastructure and systems we need to manage and deliver our programs for seniors, disable, children, and stateless person

  • 5.1 cents is invested in commercial activities such as our retail stores.

How we stay accountable

All our activities are conducted legally, ethically and in accordance with high standards of integrity. Board members, employees and volunteers are required to signify acceptance of, and compliance with, the organisation’s Child Safeguarding Policy and Code of Conduct.

We produce evaluation reports to assess our program outcomes and ensure continual learning on the effectiveness of our interventions, whether they involve direct services for children, or our policy and advocacy work to fulfil children’s rights.

We have also developed policies that address occupational health and safety, privacy, equal opportunity and employee grievances. These policies help our employees and volunteers meet our high standards of ethics and conduct.

We are regulated through the Australian Charities and Not-for-Profits Commission (ACNC) and we comply with the Code of Conduct of the Australian Council of International Development (ACFID).

Read UNCC's 2016/17 Global Accountability Report to learn more about how we're run, who we're accountable to and where the money goes.
